Description
Alocasia (Allocasia) - the Polish common name is zakleśń. A genus of plants in the pictorial family (Araceae) that includes about 80 species. It is mainly native to subtropical Asia and eastern Australia. Alocasia has long stems ending in large, sagittate leaves, which, depending on the variety, can have different colors, decorative innervation or a wavy edge.
Alocasia Zebrina reticulata is a collector's variety of the phenomenal Alocasia, closely related to Alocasia Zebrina. Their common feature is striped stems, but the reticulata variety additionally has an amazingly colored leaf blade, resembling a contrasting stained glass window. The distinctive coloration becomes more prominent as the plant grows.
